So you’re building a budget out of a dozen moving pieces, and photography is usually one of the bigger line items. How much can you expect to spend? In Washington, wedding photography pricing ranges widely depending on coverage hours, second shooters, albums, and experience. Here is what that actually looks like, and how my three packages break down.

What Drives the Price


Photography pricing is not random. A few things move the number up or down.


  1. Hours of coverage. More hours means more of your day gets documented, from getting ready through the last dance. It also means more editing time on the back end.
  2. Second photographer. A second shooter catches angles the primary photographer physically cannot. While I'm photographing you getting ready, a second shooter can be capturing your guests finding their seats.
  3. Deliverables. A printed album costs more than a digital gallery alone. Albums involve design time, proofing, and print production.
  4. Experience and demand. Photographers who have shot hundreds of weddings price differently than someone just starting. That is not a knock on newer photographers. It is just part of how the market works.


In Washington, full-day wedding photography commonly falls somewhere between $2,000 and $6,000, with albums, engagement sessions, and second shooters pushing the higher end of that range.

My Packages

I built three packages because weddings are not one-size-fits-all. A backyard ceremony with 40 guests has different needs than a 10-hour celebration with a first look, a full reception, and a sparkler exit.

Love Story — $2,200 + tax


This is built for couples who want solid, beautiful coverage without the extras.

Six hours typically covers getting ready through the early reception, or ceremony through the final dances if you are skipping a morning start. It works well for elopements, smaller weddings, and couples who have a tight, efficient timeline.

Wonderland — $3,300 + tax


This is my most requested package, and it is where a second photographer comes in.

Eight hours with a second shooter usually covers the full arc of a wedding day. Getting ready, first look, ceremony, portraits, and a good chunk of the reception. Having two of us means one photographer can stay with you for family photos while the other is capturing candid guest shots during the cocktail hour.

This is the full experience, built for couples who want their wedding day and the season around it documented.

Ten hours means we are there from morning prep through the sendoff, with room to breathe in between instead of rushing from one moment to the next. The 10x10 album turns your gallery into something you actually hold and pass around at family gatherings. The anniversary session is one of my favorite additions. Within a year of your wedding day, we go back out and photograph you as a married couple.

What I've Learned Watching Couples Choose


Most couples start out thinking they know exactly which package they want based on price alone, and then the hour count comes into play once we map out their actual timeline. A couple with a 4 pm ceremony and a first look might need 8 hours just to cover getting ready through dinner, even with a smaller guest list. I always walk through the day hour by hour with couples before they commit, because the right package depends on your schedule, not just your budget.

The second photographer add-on has the most value, especially for ceremonies with more than 60 guests. One camera cannot be in two places when you are walking down the aisle, and your grandmother is seeing you for the first time in your dress.

FAQ


Do I need the engagement shoot if I already have photos I like? The engagement shoot is complimentary because it gives us a chance to work together before your wedding day. You can always waive it if you'd rather!

Is 6 hours really enough coverage? For a lot of weddings, no. If your ceremony and reception are at the same venue and you don't care for getting-ready portraits of send off photos, 6 hours can cover the whole thing. I'll walk through your specific schedule with you to confirm before you book.

Does the anniversary session expire? It's meant to be used within the first year of marriage, so you have flexibility to schedule it around your schedule and the season you want.
